Newport Country Markets

Newport Country Market has been a presence in Newport since the 1960s and was originally known as the WI Country Market.

Our talents are many, from traditional home baked goods, sweet and savoury, for everyday consumption to speciality cakes for birthdays and special occasions. A diverse range of jams, pickles and chutneys which you wouldn’t find in a regular supermarket, truly free-range eggs from chickens kept in our gardens, local honey from local bees which can be beneficial for those with hay fever etc.

The craft products are many and unusual, from knitted baby clothes, aprons, household gifts to products for the garden - bird tables and feeders, hedgehog boxes. In the spring and summer there is a wide selection of plants (flowers and vegetables) and later in the season fresh produce from our gardens. We use many of our own home-produced products in our baking and preserves to make them truly local and homemade.

We take orders for any of our products and deliver to local shops and businesses on Friday mornings by arrangement.

So, if you want freshly baked items that are not full of additives and e numbers, unusual handmade gifts for the house and garden, plants and produce locally grown, come and see us in the Market Hall and find out more. You maybe inspired to join our team and showcase your talents!
