Newport Market manager said 'We can guarantee a warm welcome from our cheerful team and If you can't get to the market don't forget that most of the stalls can deliver' Last time there was a bank holiday for the 75th Anniversary of V E Day, the market enjoyed a busy two days of trading on both days. The market was decked out in red, white and blue and some of the stallholders dressed appropriately. Sue Belshaw, Market Manager, reported a 'lively' atmosphere with both customers and stallholders in high spirits, which under the circumstances was welcome. 'Having a bit of fun whilst observing social distancing and keeping everyone safe, required additional resources and some extra work, but it was worthwhile'.
Monday 25th May sees Spring Bank Holiday and all essential food stalls are gearing up to ensure the folk of Newport, and the surrounding areas, are provided with all the fresh produce they need.
If you haven't been to the market since the refurbishment last July, pop along and take a look. You might be surprised at how light and atmospheric it is despite half of the stalls being unable to open.
