It's just 12 months since the market was closed for a whole 4 week period to give it the first re-vamp in 40 years. Careful consideration has been given to the occupation of the stalls to ensure that the customers enjoy a broad shopping experience in pleasant surroundings. Lock-down for three months saw the essential food stalls turn up week after week to keep the market open. Existing and new customers have been grateful of the continued commitment by stallholders who have encouraged and supported each other throughout these difficult times, even finding time to dress up to celebrate the 75 year anniversary of V E Day on 8th May.
Management for the market said 'Securing many new customers to the market is encouraging and we are hopeful that the people of Newport will continue to visit us and support local business'.
